WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS TELL YOU?

     Did you know that Scripture addresses our thoughts?  Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.  2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

     In Philippians 4:4-9, the apostle Paul also talks to us about our thoughts.  He tells us to rejoice in the Lord and he repeats it, he then tells us to pray to God and ask him for what we need with thanksgiving and supplication.  Then in Philippians 4:8 he says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.

     Finally, in verse 9 he tells us that we should follow his example in our actions. In other words, when we have a problem remember that God is there.  Ask God for what you need and thank Him. Then think about positive and true things. Finally, we should act on the positive thoughts and thank God for His answers to our prayers.
